Kelly is an experienced and committed advocate. She began her career in 2007 as a paralegal at a solicitor's firm in the midlands and qualified as a Solicitor in 2013. Shortly afterwards, she qualified as a HCA (Higher Court Advocate) where her passion for advocacy grew.

In 2016 Kelly transferred to the Bar, joining chambers in Manchester and regularly defending and prosecuting in serious cases including: murder, sexual assault, extreme violence, child cruelty and human trafficking. Although usually acting on behalf of clients in the Crown Court, she has appeared before the Court of Appeal on a number of occasions.

Many of these cases often featured issues commonly seen before the family courts; such as social disadvantage, drug & alcohol addiction, domestic violence and allegations of non-accidental child injuries. Kelly has substantial experience of dealing with both vulnerable witnesses and clients.

Having joined Regent Chambers in February 2023, Kelly accepts instructions in cases concerning the full range of public and private law Children Act proceedings.

Kelly will also continue to accept defence instructions in relation to all criminal allegations.
